LEND A HAND FOR LITERACY
~OUR INTERNATIONAL FOCUS~
Primary Care Associates Clinic---First Circle of Paris donated 70 books to the PCA clinic in Paris. The pediatricians at the clinic take time at well-baby visits (up to age 5) to read a portion of a book to the child. Then they give the book to the child and explain to the parents how important it is to read to children early in life. What a wonderful way to promote literacy! The books were donated from various circles at the state convention.
Books for Babes--- Community Bank, in conjunction with Friendship Circle of Cleburne, donated 1,400 bags containing books in Spanish and English for all newborns at Cleburne's Texas Health Resources Walls Regional Hospital. This supports the International Lend a Hand for Literacy campaign.

Goodfellows---All circles in Cleburne put age appropriate books in the Christmas boxes that were distributed to the needy.
East Cleburne Community Center---All circles in Cleburne have adopted the part of the center that deals with children. They are helping stock their library, as well as funding supplies for tutoring and classes.
